The Big Bad Project, a 501(c)(3) organization founded in October 2022, exists to challenge outdated narratives and promote real solutions for wildlife conservation and coexistence, starting with grey wolves. As a keystone species and a frequent subject of misunderstanding and controversy, wolves sit at the center of some of the most complicated conversations in conservation today.
We don’t shy away from that complexity. Our work explores how stories, science, and lived experiences shape the way people relate to predators, and to nature as a whole. Through education, community-based initiatives, and non-lethal conflict prevention strategies, we’re working to build a future where wolves, livestock, and people all have a place.
Coexistence isn’t easy, but it’s possible. And it starts with changing the way we see the so-called “big bad.”
